Pattern is Knitted Girl Doll from Weir Dolls and Crafts

I’m hoping this weekend to finish the knitted doll I’ve been working on and off for the last couple months.

The pattern is knitted Girl doll from Weir dolls and crafts . I have the body (shoes, legs, skirt, body, an arm, and head) complete and just need to finish the last arm and the hat. Then its time to sew up the seams and stuff! The skirt was definitely the trickiest part with the alternating of white and green. I think redid the skirt about 3 times before I was happy with my stitches. This is the first non-scarf knitting project I’ve gotten more that half way on and the first in doing Intarsia (making a pattern with different colors). It was simple enough for me as a beginner because it all done in stockinette (knit one row, purl the next) - I had learned to purl in my last scarf - and only had a small amount of decreasing in the head and the arms. The pattern in the skirt knock the skill level up a notch for a challenge.

Here are some pictures of how the doll is developing:

The pattern starts off with the skirt. It has a rolled hem at the bottom then a couple rows of the main color (green) then a stripe of white and then green, followed by the pattern. A stripe of white on the top completes the pattern and the rest of the skirt is done in green.

After completeing the skirt, the legs are done one at a time, starting with the fuzzy black yarn for the boots and then changing to the tan color for the rest of the leg.

The two finished legs are joined to the body which is then knitted into the skirt

After the skirt is attached, the rest of the body (green) is done followed by the head (tan)

And this is where my pictures end (for the moment :) ).
